Tiny House Renovations 2023

Take a peek at my art studio, a tiny house on wheels built by my daughter in 2015. It relocated in 2016 and now features a loft for sleepovers. I enjoy remodeling the interior every few years. Here's  what it looks like today.

Another Update to the Tiny House Studio

In order to maximize the 150 sq foot Tiny house. I added a sink/toilet combo to save space and water. I moved my easel to the far end added shelves, painted the floor and walls. This has given me much needed elbow room.

Updating the Tiny House

In order make better use of the space  I opened up the main floor by removing the stairs, bathroom wall, pocket door, shower and toilet. I then moved the sink to the far wall where the toilet was. I rebuilt the stairway to loft in the space where the shower was located. The result is more useable space on the main floor and the loft.

Art Studio

The studio's seven double-paned windows provide plenty of natural light and can be opened to allow for better air circulation. The restored solid wood door also features a large window with a charming cross-hatch pattern. A 32 sq ft. bathroom features a shower and flushing toilet, and a small sink is located near the door to the bathroom. The shower and sink are connected to a 7 gallon water heater—enough for a short shower! The framing consists of 2x4 studs every 16 inches on center and ¾ inch plywood secured with deck screws. Hurricane strapping was used on all joints to further secure the frame. The floor, ceiling, and walls are insulated with fiberglass insulation. The exterior measures 18W x 8.5L x 13.4H feet, and no permit is required for towing. The shell of this tiny house was built in 2016 in Touchet, Washington using both new and reclaimed materials.
